The next day, Song Qingyou rose later than usual. It was already past nine when she woke up, and she couldn’t help but knit her brows. She had only been the president of the Song Group for a little over half a month, and she was already showing signs of tardiness; she wondered what her subordinates would think.

She dressed and washed up as quickly as she could. As she buttoned her shirt, she failed to fasten it completely, revealing patches of mottled skin beneath. A sense of foreboding washed over her. Her long, slender fingers lightly lifted the hem of her shirt, and the marks visible were simply ghastly.

Song Qingyou took a deep breath and checked her legs beneath her skirt, only to find the situation was even worse there, with not even her ankles spared.

From head to toe, the only clean spot left was her neck.

Leaning against the vanity, she was so incensed she felt as if she might vomit blood. She had been far too lenient with Fu Wenzhou; she should have just sent him to the hospital yesterday to have his "little Fu" removed.

Song Qingyou had always been a person of muted emotions, rarely finding anything that could make her truly happy or angry. Yet, all her little outbursts were reserved for Fu Wenzhou. Sometimes, even she didn't realize that since being with him, she had become much more expressive. Though she remained cool and distant in front of others, she had gained a certain warmth and humanity.

After washing up, Song Qingyou went downstairs to find that Fu Wenzhou had already prepared breakfast.

Watching him bustling back and forth, she frowned slightly. "Your hands haven't healed yet. Why are you fussing about?"

Hearing her, Fu Wenzhou turned around and wiggled his bandaged hands. "It doesn't interfere with anything. Come and eat, Youyou."

Song Qingyou checked the time; she was already running late, but seeing the expectation in Fu Wenzhou’s eyes, she bit her lip and went over to sit down. Fortunately, Fu Wenzhou had timed everything perfectly, letting the porridge cool to the ideal temperature, allowing her to eat quickly.

Before she left, Fu Wenzhou carefully wrapped a scarf around her, winding it layer by layer until only her eyes were visible. The plush texture made her face look even smaller and more delicate.

Fu Wenzhou held her face and kissed her on the forehead. "I'll bring you lunch."

Song Qingyou refused. "No. Spend this time recovering properly. You are not allowed in the kitchen until your hands are healed; the doctor said they shouldn't get wet."

Fu Wenzhou replied nonchalantly, "They already got wet when I showered last night."

Song Qingyou frowned immediately and pushed his hands away. "I’ll come home early tonight."

"Hmm?"

"To help you shower."

"!!!" Damn! There was such a good thing?

Fu Wenzhou’s dark eyes gleamed. "Deal!"

Song Qingyou had intended to leave, but remembering something, she glanced at him and gestured with her hand. "Bend down. Lower your head."

Fu Wenzhou obediently followed her instructions.

Song Qingyou reached out and ruffled his hair several times. It seemed to have grown longer, and it felt soft under her palm.

"Go get a haircut," she said.

"Hmm?"

"Get a wolf cut."

Fu Wenzhou had no objections. "Alright."

Song Qingyou nodded in satisfaction before turning to leave.

The rain had stopped, and for once, the sun was out, making for a beautiful day. Song Qingyou’s mood lifted a little. When she reached the car, Song Chang and Fu Bei were already waiting.

"Miss."

"Madam."

They spoke in unison upon seeing her. Song Qingyou nodded. Fu Bei opened the car door for her, and she stepped inside.

Song Chang glanced at Fu Bei several times. Previously, this task had always been his. Today, he had seen Fu Bei the moment he arrived; the young man had merely greeted him politely as "Uncle Chang" before falling silent and standing to the side. At first, he thought Fu Bei was there to see the young Mr. Fu, but now it seemed he was waiting for Song Qingyou.

Song Chang wanted to ask why there was suddenly an extra person by the Miss's side, but in the end, he held his tongue. Fortunately, his role as the driver had not been usurped; Fu Bei sat in the passenger seat, and Song Chang continued to drive.

By the time they reached the company, Song Qingyou had finished her routine meeting and arranged for someone to help Fu Bei familiarize himself with the company environment and recent projects. Afterward, she called Song Chang into her office.

Once the door was shut, Song Chang could no longer contain himself. "Miss, do you think I'm too old? Or do you feel that this old man’s abilities are no longer a match for the younger generation?"

Song Qingyou poured him a cup of hot tea, her voice calm and steady. "Uncle Chang, how could I ever look down on you? You’ve watched me grow up since I was a child. In my heart, you are my family."

"Then why..."

Song Qingyou sighed lightly. "It is precisely because you are my family that I want to ensure you have a comfortable retirement. Uncle Chang, you are sixty this year. I don't want you running around after me at your age. Auntie passed away early, and Brother Lang left you long ago. For so many years, you have revolved around the Song family, watching over my mother, and watching over me."

Song Chang was deeply moved and hurriedly said, "I have always treated you like my own daughter, Miss. Serving you is my own willing choice."

Song Qingyou pulled him to a seat. "I know. But I hope you won't work so hard in the future. I want you to enjoy your golden years and live a good life with Auntie Liu."

Song Chang was startled. "Miss, you... you knew?"

"Yes." Song Qingyou nodded slightly. "Uncle Chang, I know you have always longed for a home. Now that you've finally met someone, and since Auntie Liu has been divorced for many years, you should settle down with her. Whether you want to live with me or go live outside with her, both are fine."

Song Chang looked at Song Qingyou deeply. He had watched her grow up; of course, he couldn't bear to leave her. But now that the Miss had the young Mr. Fu, he could finally rest easy. "Your Auntie Liu said she wanted to buy a house outside."

Song Qingyou smiled. "Have you found a place?"

Song Chang nodded. "On West Street. The location is quite good."

Song Qingyou said, "Take me to see it after work."

Song Chang smiled. "Alright."

Song Chang was full of enthusiasm about looking at houses. He had always trusted the Miss's judgment. Upon learning she would join them, he hurriedly called Liu Rong and asked her to come as well.

The three met at the entrance of the residential complex. Fu Bei stood far away, waiting by the car.

When Liu Rong saw Song Qingyou, she felt a bit embarrassed. She was fifty this year, ten years younger than Song Chang. Their mutual attraction had started on the evening of the Lunar New Year when Song Chang was shoveling snow in the yard and Liu Rong came over to help. After a few exchanges, they grew close. At their age, it was rare to find someone you liked, and even though they had only known each other for half a month, Liu Rong had decided that Song Chang was the one for her. Although he was much older, he was refined and capable, and Liu Rong was genuinely fond of him.

Worried that Song Qingyou might think they were trying to take advantage by buying a house, she explained hurriedly, "Madam, Song Chang and I planned to pay for half each. Having worked at the Fu residence for so many years, the salary the young master gave was generous, and I have saved quite a bit."

Song Chang was immediately displeased upon hearing this. "How can I let you pay? We agreed I would buy the house."

Liu Rong was shy but happy at Song Chang's devotion. "Oh, I've saved several hundred thousand; it's enough for a down payment."

Song Qingyou’s gaze swept between the two, a smile appearing in her eyes. "Let's go look at the house first."

Liu Rong urged, "Yes, yes, Madam, please follow me."

The apartment Liu Rong was looking at was on the 19th floor. It had an elevator, but it was small—only about sixty square meters.

Song Qingyou turned to the agent who had been showing them around. "Is there anything larger?"

The agent recognized their status from their attire and demeanor and nodded quickly. "Yes, in the neighboring complex. The property management and the facilities there are even better."

"Let's go take a look."

"Certainly."

The group moved to the other complex. The agent took them directly to a large, flat-layout apartment of over 170 square meters. It was more than enough for the two of them. Although it was a pre-owned property, the interior was tastefully decorated, essentially move-in ready.

Song Qingyou looked around and found it satisfactory. She asked the agent, "How much?"

The agent replied, "The total price is 6.48 million."

Liu Rong was startled by the price. "Madam, I think the previous one was better."

Song Qingyou patted Liu Rong’s hand to soothe her and turned to the agent. "We'll take this one."

After the contract was signed, Liu Rong was still in a daze. When Song Qingyou went to pay, both she and Song Chang tried to stop her, but a single look from Song Qingyou made them lower their heads in silence.

As they left, Liu Rong said awkwardly, "Madam, I didn't pay a single cent. You shouldn't put my name on the property title."

Song Qingyou said warmly, "Auntie Liu, you will be Uncle Chang's wife in the future, which naturally makes you an elder to me. It is only right that your name is on the house. As for the bride price, I will follow tradition and provide that for you as well. If you have any requirements or plans for your wedding, you can communicate directly with the wedding planner I have hired for you."

Liu Rong was moved to tears. Knowing Song Qingyou’s decisive nature, she didn't refuse again. "Thank you, Madam. You... you are truly kind. I never thought I would be able to... to have a wedding."

Song Chang turned his back, wiping away tears. The Miss only went to such lengths, attending to every detail, because she truly regarded them as family.

A phone rang.

Song Qingyou glanced at it and answered. "What is it?"

Fu Wenzhou’s tone was heavy. "Liang Muchuan’s uncle has had an accident. Where are you? Can you come back first?"

Song Qingyou frowned. "Liang Jingkang? What happened to him?"

Fu Wenzhou replied in a deep voice, "Come back first. Liang Muchuan, Gu Bai, and Xu Ze-zhan are all at home."

Song Qingyou’s heart sank. If Fu Wenzhou spoke this way, it meant the incident involving Liang Jingkang was significant and likely had far-reaching consequences.
