Chapter 128: Exclusive Pet

The instant the door closed, Song Qingyou seemed to lose all the strength in her body. She sank despondently to the floor, a trace of coldness slipping from the corner of her eye.
The chill of night gathered around her. Bathed in moonlight, her figure looked even more slender and frail.
Song Qingyou felt as though she had returned to her childhood. Voices roared all around her, yet not one of them belonged to her. Outside, every household was lit with warm lamps, while she remained utterly alone, like the fading note of laughter and merriment.
The room was dim. Curled up on the cold floor, she buried her entire face in her knees, her shoulders trembling like a lone raft adrift upon the sea—without a place to belong, surrounded only by an endless ocean whose shores could not be seen.
The only thing she had ever possessed was Fu Wenzhou.
The only thing she had ever asked for was a home with Fu Wenzhou in it.
Yet she had driven away both her light and her home.
A dull ache seized Song Qingyou’s heart. She wanted to cough, but could not; the pain lodged in her chest, in her heart, making it difficult to breathe.
Just as that dull agony was about to spread through her entire body—
Click.
The door opened.
Light spilled inside.
Fu Wenzhou entered with a dark expression, a bowl of noodles in his hand. As he shut the door, he said in a hard voice, “It’s not as if I had to come in and bother you, but no matter how angry you are, you still have to eat, don’t you? I made you some noodles. I’ll leave once you’ve finished. I’ll think about what you said about taking some time apart. And… why are you sitting on the floor? It’s freezing!”
Fu Wenzhou was so anxious that he did not even have time to put down the noodles. With one arm, he lifted Song Qingyou around the waist and carried her to the bed.
“I know you’re angry with me, but you can’t mistreat your own body.” Fu Wenzhou looked furious. Holding the bowl of noodles, he paced in circles, yet did not dare raise his voice for fear of upsetting her again.
Song Qingyou slowly lifted her head. The instant she saw Fu Wenzhou, the icy coldness and overwhelming loneliness that had enveloped her vanished.
Warmth gradually returned to her body. She moved her lips. “Didn’t you slam the door and leave?”
Fu Wenzhou was so angry he almost laughed. “When did I slam the door? Didn’t I block it with my hand?”
“Oh.” Song Qingyou answered coolly and said nothing more.
In truth, the two of them had only finished arguing half an hour ago, and she did not know what to say now.
Fu Wenzhou gritted his teeth, his expression fierce, but the words that came out sounded utterly pathetic. “It’s not because someone else taught me. It’s because…”
He simply could not bring himself to say why.
Yet he was afraid that, in a moment, he would hear Song Qingyou tell him to leave again.
He let out a low growl, taking the attitude of someone who had decided to throw caution to the wind. “I just wanted to see you, but I couldn’t find an excuse.”
Song Qingyou froze. “What?”
Hearing her ask, Fu Wenzhou grew angry again and began to complain. “Whenever you run into trouble, you never tell me. You only think about solving everything yourself. But I’m your boyfriend. Why can’t you try relying on me? I’m not an unreasonable person. If you would just—”
Song Qingyou cut him off. “You are.”
“?”
Fu Wenzhou fell silent for several seconds before simply admitting, “Yes, I am unreasonable. But tonight, it was only because I wanted to see you and couldn’t bring myself to say so, that’s all…”
Song Qingyou said coolly, “There are times when you can’t bring yourself to say something?”
Fu Wenzhou fell silent.

He swallowed, then held the bowl of noodles out to her. “Eat first.”
Song Qingyou did not even glance at it. “I don’t want to eat. Leave.”
The corners of Fu Wenzhou’s narrow eyes widened into rounded arcs. He was angry yet helpless. Setting down the bowl, he stepped forward and crouched so that they were at eye level, then reached out and drew her into his arms.
He let out a soft sigh. His voice was muffled and somewhat low. “From now on, I’ll only listen to you, Sis.”
Song Qingyou’s back stiffened slightly, her fingertips tightening where they rested against her arms.
Fu Wenzhou held her as though she were some priceless treasure.
The proud and unruly man humbled himself once more. “Don’t be angry anymore. From now on, I’ll listen only to you.”
Song Qingyou heard him whisper beside her ear, “Fu Wenzhou is your personal pet—yours alone.”
It was as though something had struck her heart. It contracted abruptly, the pain fierce and sharp.
A tear slipped from the corner of Song Qingyou’s eye. Resting her head against Fu Wenzhou’s shoulder, she said in a trembling voice, “I’m sorry. I taught you that people should be equal in a relationship, that no one belongs to anyone else, yet I can’t do it myself.”
I’m sorry. I’m always so demanding of you, while I’m timid and selfish myself.
I’m sorry. I know everything, yet I still can’t control my temper.
I’m sorry. I seem to have always considered things only from my own perspective, without thinking about how you feel.
I’m sorry. I just… love you too much.
Song Qingyou said it all silently.
Fu Wenzhou chuckled twice, his voice filled with smug satisfaction. “Sis, I like you this way.”
Song Qingyou looked up in astonishment, her lashes slightly damp and confusion in her eyes. “What?”
Fu Wenzhou kissed her cheek, catching that tear with his lips like a child who had just been given a piece of rainbow candy. “I’ve never tried roleplay before! Sis, why don’t we try it once?”
Song Qingyou looked puzzled. “How?”
Fu Wenzhou’s voice grew excited and eager. “I’ll take off all my clothes, then you can tie me up with a chain and lock me at home, making me your most loyal little dog!”
Song Qingyou fell silent.
She should never have asked.
Song Qingyou quietly pushed him away, went to the table, and began eating the noodles.
As she ate, she thought to herself:
Why on earth had she gotten angry with a husky whose mind worked on an entirely different wavelength?
Fu Wenzhou sat at the edge of the bed, watching Song Qingyou eat. His head was filled with all sorts of roleplay scenarios. It was as though he had discovered a new continent; he had already begun planning how to lure her into playing along.
Song Qingyou had no idea she had already become a little lamb awaiting slaughter.
After finishing the noodles, Fu Wenzhou washed the bowl, then went to the bathroom and prepared a bath of hot water for Song Qingyou.
When she came out after bathing, he obediently used the hair dryer to dry her hair.
“Sis, I have something to tell you.”
“I have something to tell you.”
They spoke at the same time.

Fu Wenzhou was a man who acted on his words. Since he had promised Song Qingyou that he would listen only to her from then on, it meant that in the future, no matter what she wanted to do—whether at home or at the company—he would obey her so long as she gave the word.
So he planned to tell her first that he was the president of SY.
But he had always put Song Qingyou first, so he said, “You go ahead.”
Song Qingyou stood and took two documents from her bag. “These are two business proposals. One is a three-year plan for expanding the Fu family’s industrial empire, and the other covers everything related to our cooperation with the Song family. Take a look.”
Fu Wenzhou’s gaze flickered faintly as his long, clearly defined fingers slowly opened the documents.
The proposals were extraordinarily detailed.
Song Qingyou had even prepared the one concerning the Fu family for him.
It felt as though a heavy stone had settled over his heart, pressing down until he could scarcely breathe.
Only after a long while did he pull himself free from that deathly stillness. He slowly raised his eyes, his voice slightly hoarse. “Qingqing, when did you prepare all this?”
Song Qingyou’s expression remained blank. “While you were chatting happily with another girl.”
Fu Wenzhou fell silent.
He said quietly, “I wasn’t chatting happily with her. I only said a few words.”
Song Qingyou did not want to continue dwelling on the subject. Sometimes, she had to admit that human beings were creatures who said one thing while meaning another.
She spoke cruelly, yet deep down, she did not want Fu Wenzhou to leave.
Fortunately, he came back every time.
He had never let her remain sad for long.
“Your money needs to arrive as soon as possible. The Song family’s finances are in worse shape than I expected. They won’t last two days. Ideally, before the tenth day of the lunar month—”
Before Song Qingyou could finish, the man before her had already swiftly made a phone call.
“Tell Finance to transfer the funds to the Song family immediately.” Fu Wenzhou looked up. “Qingqing, how much do you need?”
Song Qingyou pressed her lips together, then said, “Three and a half billion.”
Fu Wenzhou said, “Transfer seven billion.”
Song Qingyou stared at him. “…That much isn’t necessary.”
Fu Wenzhou hung up. “We’re family. What’s mine is yours.”
Song Qingyou cast him a sidelong glance but did not argue further.
As expected… he could not change.
Well, there was no need for him to.
