Chapter 81: A New Era
(Page 1/3)
The appraisal skill in Star Wars Online is an intricate discipline. Items identified by technicians of different levels can vary greatly in their properties, especially when it comes to additional attributes. Sometimes, a poor roll on one attribute can render an item essentially wasted. That’s why so many players are willing to pay a premium for a high-level technician’s services. Of course, the fees charged by NPCs are exorbitant, and the price is also related to the level of your equipment.
Wu Hua first handed the gloves dropped by the Six-Clawed Bat to Brick Girl.
“Not bad—your first loot is a purple-grade item.” Brick Girl donned her appraisal goggles. After two scanning rays swept across the gloves, the stats appeared:
“Black Hawk Tactical Gloves, purple equipment, class requirement: Gunner, level requirement: 20, durability: 300/300, defense +10, general resistance 1.1%, fire resistance 2.0%, bonus attributes: Strength Mastery +1, Accuracy increased by 1.4%, Reload speed improved by 1.5 seconds.”
“These tactical gloves are really good.” Brick Girl was surprised; it was rare to see gloves with such excellent stats.
Without another word, Wu Hua equipped the gloves.
“Brick Sis, could you help me look at this too?” Wu Hua raised his hand.
Brick Girl adjusted her glasses. “A red-grade gem? You even managed to get this? Wow, you’ve got some skills.” With that, she snatched the gem from him.
A few seconds later, the stats appeared:
“Hymn of Praise
Red Gem
Defense: +20
General resistance: +7%
Bonus attribute: Ranged Mastery +1”
“This gem’s properties are great. The only issue is that it doesn’t have any attack attributes. But since you’re a gunner, it actually suits you well—very high defense.” Clearly, Brick Girl had appraised countless gems before—she immediately pinpointed the gem’s weakness.
Wu Hua returned the gem to his pack. With a sigh of relief, he grinned, “Heh, having it at all is more than enough.”
Brick Girl couldn’t help asking, “Anything else you want appraised?”
“Yes!” Wu Hua answered stoutly, then drew a gleaming energy sword from his inventory.
This time, not only did Brick Girl’s eyes widen, even Yu Jialing beside them was visibly moved, because the sword’s green light illuminated the entire research lab.
“G-green-grade?” Brick Girl’s jaw dropped.
“Green-grade!” Wu Hua exhaled. This was dropped by the level 45 dual-class warrior boss.
“Wait, let me go get a better pair of goggles before I appraise it—wouldn’t want to ruin such a fine sword by accident,” said Brick Girl.
(Page 2/3)
Watching her plump figure squeeze with difficulty into the storage room, Wu Hua felt a pang of gratitude.
“Give it to me!” Brick Girl reappeared at the workbench, now wearing goggles that looked like a gas mask.
She placed the energy sword on the table. This time, four green rays swept slowly along the blade, and a dense array of data began to reflect in the goggles’ lenses.
A full two minutes passed before Brick Girl finally removed the “gas mask,” sighing, “This sword is worth half a year of my salary.”
“Oh?” Wu Hua and Yu Jialing were intrigued.
Ayat Divine Light Sword
Green-grade equipment
Class requirement: Chip Warrior
Strength requirement: 50
Attack damage: 520–675
Sharpness: B1 level
Bonus attributes: Thunder Leap Attack Power +38%, Strength Mastery +10
Hidden slot +1
Seeing the list of attributes, Wu Hua’s first thought was of Tushai. If he wielded this sword, there would be few warriors bold enough to face him. As long as you had the strength to handle it, you’d have at least 60 points in Strength Mastery—what did that mean?
Regenerating 60 HP per second, plus the effect of a health serum for a total of 110 points. And if a healer added an “Energy Treatment” skill, you’d be an unkillable monster.
And that wasn’t all—the key was that without over 30 levels, no one could even pick up this sword due to the 50-point strength requirement. Once equipped, a single blow could send an opponent’s weapon flying, and with +38% Thunder Leap Attack, it was truly a warrior’s blessing, a gunner’s bane, a master’s ally, and a controller’s nightmare.
“A little hype and this sword could easily go for several hundred thousand credits,” Brick Girl said, eyes gleaming.
Yu Jialing was stunned as well; the best gear she’d ever dropped was only purple-grade, yet Wu Hua always managed to surprise her.
“Wait, I’ve got another set of equipment for you to check,” Wu Hua said with a smile.
“A set?” Brick Girl’s eyes widened again. “What is it?”
“Combat suit set.” Wu Hua pulled a small metal case from his inventory. On the case, the words “sealteam6” were printed in English.
This was the very Navy SEAL combat suit Tushai had once coveted.
(Page 3/3)
When Brick Girl opened the case and looked inside, her expression changed.
Yu Jialing couldn’t help but ask, “What’s wrong?”
Brick Girl looked frustrated. “I’m regretting one thing right now.”
“What is it?” Wu Hua couldn’t help but ask.
“I should have charged you an appraisal fee! Why didn’t I?” Brick Girl sighed.
Her regret was understandable—the box contained a complete set of blue-grade equipment.
Wu Hua’s Luck stat was only +1, but the benefits it brought were astonishing. From the moment he picked up the box to the instant kill against Hanmei Aoxue, his heart had been pounding. This set would allow him to completely leave behind the days of sneak attacks and become a gunner who could face opponents head-on.
“Navy SEAL Combat Suit, blue-grade, class requirement: Gunner, level requirement: 27, defense 410, durability 2000/2000, general resistance 42%, water and fire elemental resistance 45%, bonus attributes: Ranged Mastery +5, Agility Mastery +5, Constitution Mastery +5, Movement Speed +5, reduces weight by 15%, hidden slot +1;”
Just the combat suit alone was enough to take one’s breath away, especially with those bonus attributes—formidably powerful.
Each point in Ranged Mastery increased attack by 10 joules; each point in Agility Mastery raised speed by 3% and defense by 3 points. These were Wu Hua’s long-standing weaknesses, and this suit more than compensated for them.
“Navy SEAL Helmet, blue-grade, class requirement: Gunner, level requirement: 27, defense 75, durability 500/500, general resistance 7%, water and fire elemental resistance 10%, bonus attribute: Constitution Mastery +1, ignores damage below 400 points;”
This helmet meant that red-grade submachine guns would be unable to score a headshot on Wu Hua.
“Navy SEAL Belt, blue-grade, class requirement: Gunner, level requirement: 27, defense 20, durability 200/200, general resistance 2%, water and fire elemental resistance 7%, bonus attributes: Constitution Mastery +3, Agility Mastery +3, 10 effective storage units;”
“Navy SEAL Goggles, blue-grade, class requirement: Gunner, level requirement: 27, durability 50/50, vision +2, vision recovery time reduced by 5 seconds.” This property was essentially protection against strong light and flashbangs—not complete immunity, of course, but enough to guarantee you’d recover before others. That was sufficient.
“Navy SEAL Boots, blue-grade, class requirement: Gunner, level requirement: 27, defense 260, durability 800/800, general resistance 10%, water and fire resistance 18%, bonus attributes: Constitution Mastery +5, Agility Mastery +8, Movement Speed +7.”
The set consisted of five pieces: combat suit, boots, helmet, belt, and goggles. Though not extensive, the stats were exceptional.
When fully equipped, the set provided 765 points of defense—almost equivalent to most of the Tier Twelve alloy armor set.
General resistance of 61%, water and fire resistance of 80%—truly a controller’s nightmare.
Constitution Mastery +14, Agility Mastery +16, Movement Speed +12—these three were the most terrifying, meaning +600 HP, a base movement speed of 12 meters per second, on par with a beginner’s charge skill.
When Brick Girl finished reading out the stats, Wu Hua was completely stunned. This set was a qualitative leap beyond ordinary purple or green gear. His era was about to begin.
(Old Bian: As you can see, this book struggled for a month and only made it onto the new book rankings in the last two days. If I update after midnight, it’ll drop off the list. I don’t want to delay updates, as it would go against my original promise. I’d rather lose some bookmarks than ruin my own reputation. My writing may not be perfect, but please believe that I, the author, keep my word. The only way I can repay you all is by working hard on the manuscript.
