One Gun to Glory – Online Game
Wu Hua listened to the story and couldn’t help complaining, “Damn it, you and Riwan are already level 25, Old Su’s at 26, and I’m only level 23. What good am I alone?”
Tu Tiao grew anxious. “I even called Joker and that guy Shoots Without Sin, but you’re the only one online.”
Wu Hua knew he meant Shoots Without Sin and Handsome Yet Ugly, and he felt a slight warmth in his heart. Friends met during survival quests were indeed more reliable.
“Damn it, are you going to help or not?” Tu Tiao’s expression was urgent. Clearly, he was used to bullying others, never expecting to be chased himself.
“Of course I’ll help. We’re brothers, after all.” Wu Hua smiled.
Riwan and Su2o also broke into smiles. “Old friends are always trustworthy.”
“But I don’t get it,” Wu Hua said. “Why call me? What can I do?”
Su2o explained, “They have fifteen people, eleven of them are gunners, all above level 25. They’re using nothing but modified AK-Ms, don’t know what color gear, but their firepower is strong.”
In other words, with only a handful of warriors, psychics, and medics, they’d just be punching bags.
Tu Tiao cursed, “If my twelve-point alloy armor hadn’t exploded during the survival quest, I’d clean up those trash in no time. Damn it!”
Wu Hua chuckled inwardly. He knew Tu Tiao relied on that armor to survive. The new eight-point alloy armor had half the defense, barely five hundred points. Even if the enemy only had five basic AK-47s, firing together, Tu Tiao wouldn’t stand a chance.
Su2o said, “The terrain inside is unusual. It’s all cross-shaped tunnels, very narrow, only enough for two people side by side. In the center is a circular hall, about two hundred square meters. It descends layer by layer. You have to find the way down yourself, at one of the four ends of the cross. There’s nothing inside you can use.”
With that, Wu Hua felt more confident. The tomb’s layout really didn’t suit psychics or controllers. Warriors without high defense or agility would just get cut down. But gunners had serious potential here.
“How many do we have?” Wu Hua asked.
Tu Tiao turned immediately and waved, “Hey, come over. This is Explosive Madman. Call him ‘Mad Brother.’”

“Mad Brother!”
“Mad Brother!”
Three girls, exhausted and covered in grime, greeted him weakly. Clearly, they’d suffered losses in the earlier skirmish.
“You’re such a fool. Can’t do anything without my guidance?” Wu Hua glared at Tu Tiao. All three were battlefield medics—obviously, Tu Tiao’s armor had failed, and he’d recruited extra medics for safety.
“Come on, we had over ten people earlier. Three medics isn’t too many, right?” Tu Tiao argued.
“Fine, add me to the team. Let’s head down now.” Wu Hua waved his hand and strode into the tomb.
“How come he’s the only gunner? The enemy has eleven. Can he handle it?” asked Lan Lan, one of the medics, skeptical.
“Yeah, they’re using AK-Ms. If we go down, isn’t it just…” Qiao Qiao started, but left the sentence unfinished—the meaning clear: they’d be courting death.
Ling Ling complained, “Only level 23? Pretty ordinary. I thought he’d be a level 30 expert.”
“Enough. You don’t know anything. Just wait and see how powerful Mad Brother is. Without him, we’d really be hopeless,” Tu Tiao insisted, clearly impressed by Wu Hua’s Desert Eagle.
Once inside the tomb, Wu Hua took out his gun case, quickly assembled the AUG, loaded the magazine, and switched off the safety.
“Hey, you’re using the big gun this time?” Riwan asked curiously.
Wu Hua touched the polymer magazine, feeling a little excited. It was his first time with this weapon—he wondered how it would perform.
The tomb was exactly as Su2o had described, shaped like a cross. The walls were smooth, inscribed with various runes like at the entrance. Every twenty meters, a small lamp was embedded in the wall—a clear sign of the game developer’s design. Otherwise, the tomb would have been pitch dark.
On the first three floors, there were no monsters—probably cleared out by the previous team. On the fourth floor, Wu Hua’s group entered from the eastern corridor. Reaching the circular hall, echoes of buzzing came from the opposite tunnel. The sensor showed fifteen green dots—the enemy directly ahead, at a distance of 291 meters.

Wu Hua signaled the group to halt, then lay prone at the tunnel entrance. Through the AUG’s scope, he could see figures, though the scope didn’t match optical standards—no distance, coordinates, or direction, just a “T”-shaped reticle.
He aimed for a while, then pulled the AUG back.
“Why aren’t you shooting?” Tu Tiao asked, confused.
Wu Hua replied, “If fighting starts, you all retreat first. Their firepower is strong—getting closer will be bad for us.”
Tu Tiao thought it over and agreed, “You’re always so thorough.”
In truth, he had no idea Wu Hua was calculating.
The AKM was a standout in the AK series, and its special attributes shone in Star Wars Online. From previous experience, basic weapons only deliver about a third of their potential, but the AK series is an exception.
AK rifles use 7.62mm spinning rounds—not the fastest, about 735 meters per second, lower than the AUG—but these bullets spin rapidly in flight, causing severe trauma on impact: not just bleeding, but armor penetration.
So in Star Wars Online, AKs deal at least two-fifths of their max damage. If those players’ AKMs are red gear, they could easily deal over half their power.
The AK series is cheap to make and buy, making it a favorite among gunner players. Many worship the AK, seeing it as a symbol of manhood, a toy for real men. But like the Desert Eagle, aside from sheer power, it’s nearly useless—only by fighting in various environments will you understand.
Still, the AK is the king of close-quarters combat. The AKM’s muzzle energy reaches 1980 joules, 300 more than the AK-47. These players could deal about 1000 damage in one shot. Wu Hua’s own gear offered 165 defense, reducing a shot to about 700. Since finishing the survival quest, Wu Hua hadn’t allocated points—his HP stood at 3450, meaning he could only take five hits. He’d have to fight smart.
With that in mind, Wu Hua quietly removed the standard barrel and attached a silencer, planning to assassinate—that was the advantage the AK couldn’t match:
“Muzzle energy: 2100 joules (base) + 400 joules (penetration), silenced barrel.”
He flipped open the scope, took a deep breath, and placed the red-dot “T” reticle over the last gunner’s back. His finger slid over the trigger. “Let’s see what this green-tier treasure can do.”
