"Bei... Beijia?" Kang Fu’s scalp went numb the moment he heard the voice.

Su Man also turned to look in the direction of the sound. Standing downstairs was a stunning, gorgeously dressed beauty, her beautiful, voluminous wavy hair particularly eye-catching.

When she heard the name Beijia, Su Man realized what she had forgotten earlier: she had failed to account for the possibility that Beijia might actually come to this villa!

Kang Fu had lost his composure the moment he saw Beijia. Forgetting all about his plans, he hurried downstairs, anxious and flustered. "Beijia, listen to me, it's not what you think."

"Not what I think? Kang Fu, you really are something else. This was supposed to be our future home, and you bring so many women here!" Beijia crossed her arms, looking ready to settle scores. She glanced up at Lin Hui, who was still wearing a wedding dress, and her tone turned even colder. "Oh, you’ve even got a wedding dress ready. Kang Fu, are you planning on marrying someone else?"

Kang Fu grabbed Beijia’s arm, wishing he had ten mouths to explain himself, but he couldn't be too explicit for fear of alerting the enemy. He was caught in a dilemma.

Beijia was actually waiting for him to explain, but seeing his evasive manner, she became so angry she didn't want to speak.

The moment had passed; she would have to rethink her strategy. Su Man intended to find a way to get Lin Hui out of there first. However, catching a glimpse of Lin Hui, she felt that things might not be so simple—the jealousy burning in Lin Hui’s eyes was almost ready to erupt.

Lin Hui was currently both jealous and furious. She was jealous of the love Kang Fu had for Beijia, and furious that Beijia didn't take Kang Fu seriously and was blaming him so casually.

"Ms. Bei!" Not knowing where she found the courage, she gathered the hem of her wedding dress, rushed down the stairs, and stood between Kang Fu and Beijia.

"Do you have something to say?" Beijia was jealous, and her tone toward Lin Hui was less than kind.

"I do!" Lin Hui said loudly. "You used every trick in the book to win Mr. Kang over—why don't you cherish him?"

"I used every trick? What tricks have I used?" Beijia found the accusation absurd. She looked at Kang Fu with dissatisfaction. "What did you tell her about me to make her misunderstand like this?"

Kang Fu felt incredibly wronged. He hadn't said anything at all. He looked at Lin Hui with a gaze of near-desperate pleading. "Miss, I beg of you, please stop talking nonsense, will you? Don't let Beijia misunderstand me anymore."

"Beijia, I really can't explain it to you right now. Just go back for now. Once I finish handling things here, I will explain everything to you. It really isn't what you think." Kang Fu was panicked. He didn't dare provoke Lin Hui too much, knowing how dangerous she could be, and he was afraid that if Beijia stayed and said something to anger her, she might get hurt.

"You're telling me to go back?" If her previous anger had been mostly feigned, Beijia was truly furious now. She couldn't help but say spitefully, "Fine, fine! Kang Fu, you're amazing! I'll go back! And don't come looking for me on the wedding day!"

With that, she turned and left. She shouldn't have come today; it was a waste of the surprise she had wanted to give Kang Fu.

Kang Fu was at his wit's end. He tried desperately to persuade her to stay, but Lin Hui interrupted again. "Go on then! You don't need to worry about the wedding; Kang Fu is going to marry me!"

She tugged at her wedding dress and said with a boastful tone, "See? This dress is exactly my size!"

"What did you say? Say that again!" Beijia had a fiery temper, and she was truly provoked now.

This was a classic case of rivals meeting, eyes burning with hatred. The air between Lin Hui and Beijia was thick with tension, leaving poor Kang Fu, who couldn't explain anything, in a miserable state. He looked toward Su Man for help.

However, Su Man felt it wasn't the right time yet. This provocation between rivals might be more effective than her previous plans. Kang Fu understood her meaning and was so anxious he almost knelt before her.

Seeing that Su Man wasn't making a move, he decided to throw caution to the wind and confess everything to Beijia. Su Man might not understand, but he couldn't lose Beijia over this.

Su Man realized what he was about to do and had to step in, even though she felt it wasn't the right moment. But before she could even get down the stairs, the situation suddenly took a new turn.

Lin Hui and Beijia had reached the point of grabbing each other’s hair. Kang Fu was at a loss, not knowing what to do. Perhaps Lin Hui was unable to use her abilities because she was trapped in this new skin, or perhaps for some other reason, she was losing the upper hand and had no way to defend herself. As she wept and shouted, on the verge of being pinned to the ground by Beijia, she finally couldn't hold back and shrieked, "Beijia! Stop! I am Lin Hui!!"

"Lin Hui?" The name acted like a kill switch. Beijia let go in shock and scrambled back.

She scrutinized Lin Hui, and after two seconds, she shook her head to herself. "No, no. You can't be Lin Hui."

Su Man stopped on the stairs. So, Beijia knew Lin Hui? She glanced at the bewildered Kang Fu, her brow furrowing slightly.

Lin Hui was very satisfied with Beijia’s expression. She crawled up with difficulty and revealed a triumphant smile. "I am Lin Hui! The real, authentic Lin Hui! The Lin Hui you deceived! The Lin Hui from whom you stole her love!"

Beijia fell silent for a moment. She looked at Kang Fu with a complex expression, a hint of struggle flashing in her eyes.

"Beijia, what on earth is going on?" Kang Fu asked with difficulty. How could he understand every single word, yet not understand a thing when they were put together?

"Beijia, I love you. I have loved you from the very beginning," he declared urgently.

"No, Kang Fu, you don't love her!" Lin Hui interrupted him excitedly, tears flashing in her eyes. "It’s me! You are supposed to love me! You don't know Beijia at all; she is an incredibly vicious woman! She snatched you away from my side!"

But Kang Fu didn't want to listen to Lin Hui at all. He pushed her away with disgust and ran to Beijia’s side, carefully holding her. "Beijia, don't listen to anything she says. The one I love most has always been you. It has always been you."

But his words offered no comfort to Beijia. The anxiety on her face was obvious; she was worried about something. Su Man guessed she was likely worried about the things Lin Hui refused to say.

Classic tropes flashed through Su Man's mind—substitutes, "white moonlight" first loves, and the like. She actually hoped Beijia and Lin Hui would provoke each other further; it would be best if everything was revealed at once.

Lin Hui was truly hurt by Kang Fu’s actions, and some words were on the verge of slipping out unconsciously. "Back then..."

Unfortunately, her words were cut off by Beijia, who had turned deathly pale. "Don't say another word!"

Beijia knew what Lin Hui was going to say. She looked up at Kang Fu, tears of restraint in her eyes. "Kang Fu, let's cancel the wedding. We shouldn't get married."
