Chapter 121: Why Does Silent Star Still Act Coy with You?
Mu Si slowly opened his eyes.
The piercing, fragmented light forced him to shield his eyes; having gone without food for three days, he was haggard and frail. His lips were dry and pale. He moved them, but in the end, said nothing.
"..."
"Get out," Bo Yu said in a low, heavy voice.
The doctor let out a startled sound. "But he can hardly move anymore..."
For a human, three days without food is the absolute limit. Even with Mu Si’s robust physique, he was no exception.
Bo Yu cast a cold glance at him. "I told you to get out."
The doctor hesitated, then said, "Very well." He retreated obediently and pulled the door shut behind him.
The air was filled with the sweet scent of cream.
Bo Yu glanced at the last fresh cupcake, maneuvered his wheelchair toward Mu Si, and braced his arms to descend from the seat.
"Don't come down," Mu Si whispered. "I don't have the strength to carry you back."
Bo Yu’s cold gaze landed on him, yet he proceeded to climb down from the chair anyway. Mu Si was right about one thing. Bo Yu was not entirely incapable of movement; his thighs could exert a small amount of force, but his dignity had long since ceased to be of any use.
Bo Yu picked up the fresh cupcake and pressed it against Mu Si’s lips. "Eat."
Bo Yu had experienced this feeling before. Three days was the human limit; if Mu Si did not eat, he would die.
Mu Si turned his head away, refusing to open his mouth.
His jaw was forced open by a firm hand. Without a hint of gentleness, Bo Yu shoved the cake into his mouth. "Swallow."
Mu Si looked at him with long, narrowed eyes, filled with near-rage.
Bo Yu met his gaze with icy detachment. It was the first time his hands were stained with cream, feeding a man on the brink of death. It felt like a scene from a past where they were the ones being saved.
Mu Si swallowed on instinct.
He then heard Bo Yu’s cold voice. "Is this the cake you like?"
"No." Mu Si lowered his eyelids and said flatly, "I like mousse cake."
Bo Yu seemed stunned for a moment.
He then let out a noncommittal sneer, looking at the cream cake in his palm, failing to understand the difference. "Eat it all."
Bo Yu’s palm was stained with a sticky, sweet residue. He wiped his fingertips with a cold, disgusted look, though he said nothing.
Until Mu Si asked, "Where is the young master?"
Bo Yu’s reply was indifferent. "That has nothing to do with you."
Mu Si could read no emotion on his face. He grabbed Bo Yu’s arm. "What have you done to the young master?!"
Bo Yu turned around, moved himself onto the footrests of his wheelchair, and the automatic device lifted him back onto his throne. He did not look at the man he had just saved, as if he were merely helping an ant survive.
"I am taking him away from here to live in Tuscany. The maple leaves there are beautiful right now."
Mu Si’s heart felt as if it had plummeted off a cliff. He repeated, unable to believe it, "What... what did you do to the young master?"
Bo Yu asked coldly in return, "What do you think?"
"You people always try to overreach, but I will set everything back on the right track, back to where the story first began."
"The first snow of the year is coming soon."
Bo Yu looked down at him from his elevated position. "You are free."
He intended to take Shen Jixing away and leave Mu Si behind.
Outside the door, the doctor felt his world go black. He had the wrong person!
"You only ever cared for the young master..."
Mu Si did not understand psychology; he only felt that Bo Yu seemed much calmer now, as if things were slowly getting better, and that he was merely being abandoned here. "Is the young master willing?"
"He will be willing." Bo Yu’s gentle amber eyes hid a depth of stagnant water. "He is mine now."
Mu Si’s psychological defenses completely collapsed. His hanging hand tightened bit by bit. For the first time, he addressed Bo Yu by his full name. "Bo Yu, you really are a bastard."
...
The morning sun was bright.
Zhou Yili finally decided to turn on his phone. A flood of messages filled the screen. He casually replied to his agent with a single character.
[Z]: 1
Meaning: Still alive.
His agent called immediately, the sudden, high-pitched ringtone erupting in the room. Zhou Yili instinctively covered Shen Jixing’s ears and tapped to answer. "Damn it, who told you to call?"
Agent: "???"
The agent immediately unleashed a string of colorful curses.
Zhou Yili didn't hear a word. He muted the call and looked down, lifting Shen Jixing’s chin. "Were you scared?"
Shen Jixing hadn't heard the agent’s voice. He buried his head in Zhou Yili’s chest. "A little. Rub it for me."
Zhou Yili replied with a laugh, his warm palm circling the cartilage of Shen Jixing’s ear.
For once, Shen Jixing’s features were relaxed, his aloof and clear demeanor softening as he wrapped his arms around Zhou Yili’s waist.
Over the past three days, Zhou Yili had been less impulsive and unrefined.
Shen Jixing’s discomfort had mostly faded. Like a noble swan being smoothed down, he asked, "Did you hang up the phone?"
Zhou Yili glanced at the screen. "No."
The swan: "???"
Shen Jixing opened his eyes immediately, hearing Zhou Yili’s lazy, soothing tone: "It’s fine, I put it on mute."
The hand on his ear continued to rub him nonchalantly.
Shen Jixing asked calmly, "Muted whom?"
Zhou Yili was stumped. He thought for a brief moment, then blinked in slow realization. "Oh, him."
Shen Jixing closed his eyes in utter despair.
"..."
He decisively rolled off the bed, left the master bedroom without looking back, and headed to the guest room he hadn't used in a long time to calm down.
Zhou Yili reached for him but missed. He called out, "You're barefoot again, put on some pant—"
In the cool, pale light, Shen Jixing shot him a cold look.
Long lashes cast shadows in the light, and his earlobes were a faint, dusty pink—whether from the rubbing or the embarrassment, it was unclear.
"Shut. Up."
Zhou Yili let out a muffled laugh and tapped the screen to resume the call with his agent.
This time, the person on the other end wasn't swearing anymore. In fact, he sounded almost impressed. "Want to give me a tutorial?"
Zhou Yili didn't understand.
"How is Shen Jixing still acting spoiled with you? Did you put a love potion on him?" The agent couldn't fathom how Zhou Yili was worthy.
Zhou Yili found the question amusing. "Do I need that? He already loves me so much that he—"
The door to the master bedroom was pushed open.
Shen Jixing stood there, expressionless, looking at him coldly.
