Chapter 119: Are You Being Lewd Again?

The floor-to-ceiling windows reflected the neon lights from outside, casting a magnificent hue over the ink-black night sky. His eyes were calm and clear in the darkness, hiding a spark that made it impossible to look away.

Lu Qingyue sat on his lap, her small hands instinctively wrapping around his shoulders. Before she could gather her thoughts, he leaned in toward her. Then, her lips were met with a light suck, tasting the faint sweetness of soda.

The kiss did not go any deeper. He merely imparted that subtle sweetness into her mouth before pulling back slightly, his eyes lowered as he gazed at her naive, bewildered expression.

"Satisfied?"

On the television behind them, the film’s background music swelled with tense, rapid drumbeats to build suspense. Lu Qingyue felt as though every beat was striking her heart, causing its rhythm to accelerate in a flurry.

Satisfied? That was impossible. In a room filled with such ambiguous light, with two people burning with the same heat, a fleeting, dragonfly-touch kiss was clearly not enough to satisfy anyone.

Stirred by his gaze, Lu Qingyue decided to go all in. She shifted her position, kneeling between his legs and pinning him against the back of the sofa. Without a word, she cupped his face and kissed him back, mimicking his earlier movements.

Although it was not their first kiss, the girl’s touch still carried a sense of awkward inexperience. She began with a light peck on his lips to savor another trace of sweetness, then tilted her head to gently nibble on his lower lip.

Her lips were warm and soft; every peck felt like a gentle torment. Cheng Xingye’s throat moved slightly as he used one hand to steady her waist. His lean, muscular arm, with its prominent veins, stood in stark contrast to her slim waist, making him appear both restrained and composed.

He let her clumsily press against him, pecking at him bit by bit. A surging, indescribable impulse churned within him, yet he merely leaned back against the sofa with his head tilted slightly, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he fought to keep from shattering the enchantment of the moment.

Amidst the growing intimacy, he suddenly recalled Hu Gaoyang’s earlier words. The thought of someone harboring lewd intentions toward the treasure he barely dared to touch himself was both disgusting and infuriating.

Cheng Xingye had endured his emotions all evening, but now that Lu Qingyue was sitting obediently in his lap, kissing him with such wild, burning abandon, the restlessness and anger in his heart finally began to subside.

Her kisses made his heart itch. Their breaths mingled rapidly, and he couldn't help but lift his hand to press her closer, attempting to deepen the kiss. Unexpectedly, caught off guard by his pull, Lu Qingyue fell forward, her elbow accidentally striking his abdomen.

Earlier, when he had grabbed Hu Gaoyang by the collar on the basketball court to punch him, one of Hu’s friends had taken the opportunity to land a blow to his side. He hadn't felt much pain at the time—likely just a bruise—but the sudden impact from Lu Qingyue caused him to hiss and instinctively arch his back.

Lu Qingyue, thinking she had exerted too much force, immediately pulled back, looking down in terror and confusion. "Ah? Did I hit you?"

Cheng Xingye covered his abdomen with one hand, took a deep breath, and leaned back against the sofa, letting out a low, breathless, "Yeah."

The kiss, filled with surging desire, was like a fleeting dream, abruptly shattered by the accident. Neither had the heart to continue.

Lu Qingyue found it strange. The impact hadn't been that heavy; why did he look so serene and tranquil, as if a slightly harder hit might have sent him to the afterlife? She looked down in bewilderment, carefully touching the spot where she had struck him, and asked, "I didn't even use any strength. Are you already failing?"

Cheng Xingye: "???"

He thought he had heard some kind of risqué double entendre and looked up from the sofa back in disbelief. "Are you making dirty jokes again?"

Lu Qingyue, still sitting on his lap, met his eyes with a look of innocent confusion. She didn't understand why he was so shocked, nor how her words could possibly be interpreted that way. "No, I'm not!" she denied instinctively, feeling completely wronged.

Seeing her innocent, blank expression, Cheng Xingye realized he had misinterpreted her. He slowly leaned back, and perhaps due to some sudden thought, he covered his eyes and let out a silent, speechless laugh.

"What's wrong?" Lu Qingyue asked, suspicious of his strange reaction.

Cheng Xingye let out a low sigh, amused yet helpless. "Could you... please be more careful with your phrasing?"

Lu Qingyue gave a vague "Oh," though it was unclear if she had taken it to heart. She had always been this way; sometimes Cheng Xingye couldn't tell if she was being unintentional or joking, but that was exactly what made her different from everyone else.

Bold and direct, never hiding anything. In other words, her sincerity was her ultimate weapon.

Just as Cheng Xingye was thinking this with a mix of amusement and pride, the hem of his shirt was suddenly lifted. A soft fingertip brushed against his side, accompanied by her surprised gasp. "What happened to your waist?"

On the man’s lean waist was a bruise, neither large nor small, looking jarring against his pale skin. Cheng Xingye hadn't expected her to lift his shirt; her touch on his side felt itchy and numb, and he instinctively pulled away.

"I fell."

His tone sounded casual as he reached to pull his shirt down, but Lu Qingyue didn't believe him. She held onto the hem of his shirt tightly. "A fall can do this? Show me how you did it again."

Cheng Xingye: "..."

He suddenly realized that having a girlfriend who was too smart wasn't necessarily a good thing—she couldn't be fooled by anything. He locked eyes with her suspicious, clear gaze, and finally let out a helpless sigh. "I got into a fight."

"Ah?" Lu Qingyue was incredulous. Could someone like him—cool, detached, and seemingly someone who would never get into conflicts—actually fight?

Cheng Xingye watched her quietly, feeling a bit flustered inside. He didn't know if she would be angry and was already mentally preparing how to coax her. Instead, the little troublemaker, who never followed convention, climbed off his lap, bent down, and leaned in carefully to look.

"Does it hurt?" she asked, looking up from the carpet.

Lu Qingyue had showered after training and was wearing a simple white T-shirt. From this angle, Cheng Xingye could clearly see her collarbone, straight and defined, and the slightly rounded curves beneath it.

His throat tightened. His dark eyes, like glass beads soaked in water, stared at her deeply. Yet, the little troublemaker kneeling on the carpet, unaware of the fire she had stoked, lowered her head again and carefully touched his injury with her fingertips.

Cheng Xingye could no longer keep up the pretense. He pulled her up by the arm, hugged her into his arms once more, and, without another word, leaned in to capture her lips.
