Chapter 121: Do Not Speak of Him Again
Upon hearing the commotion, Qin Feiyang raised an eyebrow. He led Feng Ling'er, Ling Yunfei, and the others out of the ancient castle.
Seeing that Eagle Claw Peak was on the verge of collapse, their expressions shifted instantly. Qin Feiyang flicked his sleeve, and the iron chains binding Ling Yunfei and the others snapped apart.
"Hurry and escape, or we'll be buried alive!" Feng Ling'er urged anxiously.
Lu Hong asked, "What about Chen Ying and Xu Jian?"
"They’re dead; why bother with them now? Let's go!"
Feng Ling'er took the lead, running to the stone wall and preparing to climb. Qin Feiyang grabbed her shoulder and shook his head. "It’s too late to climb out. We have to blast a path directly through!"
"You're right!" Feng Ling'er nodded. She clenched her jade hands into fists and began frantically hammering at the stone wall. A tunnel quickly began to emerge.
"Go!" Qin Feiyang waved his hand, leading the three others into the tunnel, following closely behind Feng Ling'er. Qin Feiyang also wielded his blade, Cang Xue, to assist.
"It's collapsing! Move faster!" the fatty roared.
"Why don't you do it yourself?" Feng Ling'er snapped.
"I’m not as fast as you," the fatty replied with a sheepish grin.
"Then shut your mouth and stop with the nonsense!"
"Brute Elephant Fist!" she shouted. Using a perfect-grade martial technique, she tore through the rock with unstoppable force, each punch carving out a hole over ten meters deep.
After a dozen heartbeats, a hole finally broke through to the outside. The group scrambled out, only to look up and have their souls chilled with terror. The entire Eagle Claw Peak was caving in. Debris, earth, trees, and grass transformed into a terrifying torrent, cascading down from above.
"Run! Run! Run!" Qin Feiyang barked.
The five of them fled for their lives, using every ounce of strength they possessed. The torrent behind them pursued relentlessly, threatening to swallow them whole. At this moment, they were not the only ones fleeing; the fierce beasts were also in full retreat. A dense, chaotic mass of them roared to the heavens, a sight both spectacular and horrifying. Yet, one by one, the beasts were engulfed and buried alive by the landslide.
"Fatty, Lu Hong, keep up!" Feng Ling'er urged. As a two-star Martial Sect, her speed was unmatched. Qin Feiyang and Ling Yunfei, though five-star Martial Masters, possessed auxiliary techniques. Only the fatty and Lu Hong were slower, and the debris was drawing closer with every step.
Seeing the danger, Feng Ling'er turned back, grabbed one in each hand, and dragged them along as she sprinted frantically.
Dozens of breaths later, the five of them stopped on a small hillside. Looking back at the now half-collapsed Eagle Claw Peak, they were struck with profound shock. The rumbling sound was deafening, like constant thunder, while thick dust clouds obscured half the sky. There was no telling how many beasts had been buried beneath the earth.
"That was truly heart-stopping," the fatty said, patting his chest, still shaken. If not for Feng Ling'er’s help, they surely would have been buried alive.
"Huh? Why don't I see that hunting eagle?" Ling Yunfei asked, puzzled.
"It must have been subdued by Zuo An long ago," Qin Feiyang replied.
"Oh no, we're surrounded!" Feng Ling'er suddenly exclaimed, her face turning pale. Emerging from the surrounding jungle, several massive beasts were closing in on them—the black panther and the others they had encountered earlier.
The fatty cried out in terror, "What do we do now? My sister-in-law alone is no match for them."
"Sister-in-law?" Qin Feiyang and the others were stunned.
"Shut up, you fat fool! Say that again and I'll seal your mouth shut!" Feng Ling'er fumed.
The fatty looked miserable. "Sister-in-law, if you can handle them, I wouldn't mind if you sealed my mouth or even kicked my rear."
"I would mind!" Feng Ling'er glared at him through gritted teeth before turning to Qin Feiyang. "Jiang Haotian, give me your dagger."
"It's unnecessary. I have a way," Qin Feiyang said calmly. With a thought, the black wolf appeared. He looked at the wolf and asked, "Brother Wolf, can you make them let us go?"
The black wolf looked up at him, then turned toward the black panther and the other beasts, letting out a low growl. The panther and the others stopped, emitting low whimpers as if conversing with the wolf. A moment later, the panther and the other beasts gathered together, turned, and bolted, quickly disappearing from sight.
The black wolf began to walk away, preparing to follow them. Qin Feiyang spoke up quickly, "Brother Wolf, why don't you become my companion instead?" Having spent so much time with the Wolf King, he had developed an inexplicable fondness for wolves.
The black wolf turned to look at him, but ultimately did not stay, turning and heading deep into the jungle.
"Sigh," Qin Feiyang let out a sigh, feeling quite disappointed. It seemed that getting a fierce beast to follow a human willingly was no easy task. When he looked back at Feng Ling'er and the others, he found them all staring at him with strange expressions.
"What?" Qin Feiyang asked, confused.
Feng Ling'er said, "If I recall correctly, there was also a white wolf where we were hiding. Why are you on such good terms with wolves?"
*Has she guessed it?* Qin Feiyang felt a jolt of alarm. Ling Yunfei’s eyes narrowed, a glint of cold light flashing within them. He knew Qin Feiyang’s true identity and understood what it would mean if it were exposed. If necessary, he would have to kill them to keep the secret.
Sensing Ling Yunfei’s shift in demeanor, Qin Feiyang glanced at him, signaling him not to act rashly, then smiled. "Perhaps I'm just popular with wolves."
"Is that so?" Feng Ling'er squinted, staring at him intently.
"What else could it be?" Qin Feiyang shrugged.
At this, Lu Hong frowned. "I remember that the Qin Feiyang wanted by the Royal Family also has a white wolf, doesn't he?"
Feng Ling'er’s red lips curled into a meaningful smile. "That’s right. That Qin Feiyang is truly remarkable. Renowned throughout the world at such a young age—even in Yan City, everyone knows his name."
"Is he that impressive?" Qin Feiyang asked with feigned surprise.
"Isn't that obvious?" the fatty chimed in. "Anyone who can be wanted by the Royal Family is no ordinary person. But come to think of it, they say that Qin Feiyang is only fifteen or sixteen, about the same age as you, Brother Jiang. He also has a white wolf. And coincidentally, you appeared in Black Bear City at the same time he did. Plus, you’ve always been mysterious, and your background is unknown. Could it be that you are actually Qin Feiyang in disguise?"
The fatty laid out his line of reasoning step by step.
Once he finished, everyone looked at Qin Feiyang with suspicion. Ling Yunfei, of course, was only pretending.
*Stupid fatty, why are you analyzing this?* Qin Feiyang cursed inwardly, though he had to admit the fatty wasn't as simple-minded as he looked.
"How could I be Qin Feiyang?" Qin Feiyang said with a nonchalant laugh. "If I were, I wouldn't have saved you back at Eagle Claw Peak. As for the white wolf, the world is vast and full of wonders; Qin Feiyang isn't the only person who can be friends with a wolf."
The fatty nodded. "That makes sense. But why keep the wolf hidden?"
Qin Feiyang replied, "Don't be dense. Qin Feiyang is wanted by the Royal Family. If I didn't hide it, who knows how many people would mistake me for him just like you did? I wouldn't be able to clear my name even if I had ten mouths."
"Brother Jiang, don't worry, even if you were him, I’d still admire you," the fatty chuckled.
"Stop with the flattery. I’m not one for vanity, so I don't buy that," Qin Feiyang retorted.
Feng Ling'er gazed at him, a sharp light in her eyes, then smiled. "Enough. Let's find a place to rest for the night, and we'll head to Yan City in the morning."
The five of them walked side by side through the jungle. Qin Feiyang let out a silent breath of relief. Regardless, he had managed to talk his way out of it.
Half an hour later, they arrived at the edge of a lake. Ling Yunfei dove into the water, caught two large fish, and roasted them. After a simple meal, the fatty, Lu Hong, and Feng Ling'er took their healing pills, sat by the fire, and closed their eyes to recover.
Qin Feiyang walked a few dozen meters away to the shore, sat on a rock, and stared at the calm surface of the lake in silence.
"What are you thinking about?" Ling Yunfei asked, walking over and sitting down beside him.
Qin Feiyang sighed. "I’m thinking about Uncle Yuan. I don't know where he is now, or if he's safe."
"Uncle Yuan?" Ling Yunfei asked, puzzled.
Qin Feiyang smiled. "He was a very kind, gentle old man. For the past five years, he took meticulous care of me. In this world, besides my mother, he is the only one I worry about."
"Good people are rewarded for their kindness," Ling Yunfei offered.
"Yes, he is a good man," Qin Feiyang agreed.
"What about your father? I've never heard you mention him," Ling Yunfei asked.
*Crack!*
Qin Feiyang’s hands balled into tight fists. In an instant, his dark eyes turned blood-red. They were filled with intense hatred and pain, and even a faint trace of murderous intent!
"What's wrong?" Ling Yunfei asked, startled. In his eyes, Qin Feiyang now looked like a possessed Asura, the aura radiating from him terrifyingly potent.
"Don't ever mention my father in front of me again!" Qin Feiyang said, his voice cold and bone-chilling. "Otherwise, even you will not be spared!"
As he finished speaking, the blood-red light in his eyes rapidly faded. Within moments, he returned to his former self.
"Understood," Ling Yunfei nodded, though he was filled with profound doubt. What kind of secrets was this man hiding?
