“Does it still retain its Dragon typing...?”

Seeing that Flare Blitz had failed to inflict any serious damage on the enormous Dragonite, Red began considering his next move. Dragon types were naturally resistant to Fire-type attacks.

Bigger body, greater health. That was common sense.

If they kept using Flare Blitz, Charizard might end up killing itself before the opponent finally fell.

And the enormous Dragonite was hardly a stationary target. It suddenly raised its head, and a blue pillar of water burst from its massive jaws.

A normal Hydro Pump was impressive enough if it reached a diameter of two meters.

This one was nearly ten meters across!

A true high-pressure water cannon!

Boom, boom, boom!

The water column carried enough force to crush a small mountain.

It even carved an exaggerated trail across the sea below, dragging behind it long ripples and waves. It was as though even the air itself were being shattered as the attack shot straight toward its target.

“Charizard!”

Red gave no command. Charizard had already understood.

Facing the terrifying water column, which was several times larger than its own body, Charizard remained unfazed. Tilting one wing, it shot to the side.

Whoosh!

Charizard’s body flew so close alongside the water column that it did not touch even a single droplet. Circling around the attack, it sped toward the enormous Dragonite at its source, steadily closing the distance.

“Roar!”

The enormous Dragonite began slowly moving its head. The water column, more than ten meters wide, followed its motion and slowly swept across the sky, preparing to engulf Charizard completely.

“Charizard, use Steel Wing!”

Red issued another command.

At once, Charizard’s wings blazed with a metallic sheen. Instead of retreating, it charged forward and slashed one wing across the approaching water column.

Clang!

Using the rebound force, Charizard widened the distance once more.

It had already reached a point only five meters in front of Dragonite.

At that moment, the difference in their sizes was like that between a giant beast and a flea.

From far away, a dazzling metallic-white light suddenly flared at a point along Dragonite’s neck.

The white light shot straight into the sky and slammed into Dragonite’s chin.

Charizard’s wings transformed into steel as it suddenly surged upward!

Clang!

The impact rang out like a metallic explosion, forcing the enormous Dragonite into a tactical backward lean.

“Roar!”

The enormous Dragonite shook its gigantic head. Water cascading from its face fell like a torrential downpour.

Its gaze sharpened as it forcibly suppressed the dizzying sensation caused by the blow. Then the pair of small wings on its back began to beat.

Whoom, whoom, whoom!

A vast storm erupted in an instant.

The terrifying tornado completely engulfed Charizard’s tiny figure, forcing it back again and again. With its wings held firm, Charizard could only struggle desperately within the gale.

“Don’t lose to it! Use Heat Wave!”

Red shouted.

Charizard glared furiously with its draconic eyes and suddenly spread its broad wings. Heat began to rise continuously beneath its scarlet skin...

Whoosh!

Within the storm, Charizard seized the initiative. It forcibly pushed against the wind and unleashed a wave of heat scattered with countless sparks and tongues of flame. Astonishingly, it drove back the enormous Dragonite’s seemingly ferocious gale, creating a perfect standoff in the sky.

The storm and the heat wave continued to collide.

Protected by Pidgeot, Red remained unharmed.

A cyan barrier symbolizing absolute defense had already appeared around Pidgeot. It was the move Protect.

The three people below, however, were not nearly so fortunate. The violent winds and torrential rain left Mao Dao dizzy and disoriented.

As the two Pokémon continued their furious clash, the ocean churned like the end of the world.

And then there was that man standing motionless atop Pidgeot’s back.

The three of them were utterly, absurdly shocked.

“What level of battle is this...?”

Bill murmured.

...

The storm dispersed.

Red furrowed his brow.

So Heat Wave could only match the gale evenly...?

It seemed that Charizard’s strength had indeed declined considerably after coming to this world.

Had it been weakened by a version adjustment?

Or did it need to undergo further training later on?

“If only I still had my Key Stone...” Red sighed.

The Mega Stone carried by Charizard was still with him, but his own Key Stone was gone. Without it, he could not Mega Evolve and further increase Charizard’s strength.

“Then we’ll use Dragon Claw to wear down its health little by little.”

There was no other choice. The enormous Dragonite simply had too much health. They could only whittle it down bit by bit.

Just as he was about to speak, a voice suddenly rang out in Red’s mind, filled with fiery excitement.

“Hey, Big Brother Red, stop with all the flashy nonsense! Hurry up! I want to see an absolute stomp!”

Although Ash’s body had been taken over, his consciousness remained perfectly clear.

At that moment, he was like someone watching a first-person 4D movie, completely immersed in the experience.

It was practically the ultimate VIP seat!

Red: “...”

Should he just take over the body permanently while he had the chance and never give it back...?

“Hey, Big Brother Red, we’re sharing a mind right now. I can sense what you’re thinking. You’re actually planning to...”

The sudden voice made Red jolt.

How had he accidentally exposed his inner thoughts?

What should he do? Would this boy named Ash become suspicious and allow a rift to form between them?

Red began to panic.

“Hahaha! I’ve been hoping you’d possess me for ages! And after this, don’t voluntarily give the body back. This time, I’m going to forcibly possess you!”

Ash laughed uproariously within their shared soul, his tone arrogant.

“We should have had a proper showdown long ago!”

Red: “...”

01000111·01000001·01001110!

...

Still, since Ash wanted to see an absolute stomp, Red was not incapable of satisfying that request.

He abruptly returned Charizard to its Poké Ball.

Ash panicked and hurriedly reminded him, “Big Brother Red, my body may be powerful, but there’s no way I can win against that thing in a fistfight!”

Red’s brows drew tightly together. He genuinely wanted to cut open his own head and see whether it was filled entirely with impossible knots.

“Quiet. Watch me show off...”

With that, Red casually tossed out a new Poké Ball.

Everyone assumed he was about to release another powerful Pokémon.

Instead, the Poké Ball merely trembled lightly and drifted toward the enormous Dragonite.

Then, while Dragonite stared in utter confusion, the Poké Ball suddenly opened. A red light expanded countless times in an instant, covering the colossal creature and slowly drawing it inside with a series of heavy thuds.

It was only an ordinary Poké Ball.

Clearly, it had been forced to endure a shape far beyond what anything of its age should have been expected to bear.

Ash: “?”

Hey, that’s going too far!

That enormous Dragonite still had at least half its health left! What was the meaning of throwing a Poké Ball at it directly? Was Red some kind of one-ball master?

At that moment, Red suddenly touched another Poké Ball at his waist and said slowly:

“Please. Weld the doors shut.”

The next second, an intensely powerful blue light burst through the Poké Ball.

The terrifying pressure that appeared in an instant caused everyone except Red to stop breathing, cold sweat running down their backs.

Several thousand meters around them fell into an eerie silence.

Even the constantly churning ocean seemed to freeze completely.

“Did some kind of ultimate monster come out?!”

The same thought appeared simultaneously in the minds of the three people on the shore.

But very soon, the pressure covering the entire area vanished.

The blue psychic energy, seemingly possessing a will of its own, locked onto its target. It firmly tied the Poké Ball that was about to burst open into an unbreakable knot in midair.

Buzz, buzz...

The Poké Ball floated in the air, trembling violently.

Three seconds later, it stopped shaking and drifted lightly back into Red’s hand.

The enormous Dragonite had been captured successfully.

Ash: “?”

Everyone: “?”

Was this what an absolute stomp looked like?!

Coach, I want to learn that move!

The corner of Red’s mouth lifted slightly. He touched the Poké Ball at his waist again and said:

“Thanks for your hard work. It’s fortunate I brought you along this time.”

“Don’t make me do that again. It’s filthy...”

A low voice sounded in Red’s mind, carrying a hint of displeasure.

Ash, startled, looked left and right within the soul space, wondering whether he had somehow awakened a third personality.

“Just this one time.”

Red replied slowly, humbly admitting his mistake with utmost sincerity.

Though he would definitely do it again.

“The rest is up to you, Ash.”

Having said that, Red returned control of the body to Ash, afraid that Ash would challenge him to another showdown.

“Remember to store all my Pokémon in the computer...”

...

...

“Am I back...?”

Ash opened his eyes and discovered that he had regained control of his body.

He was somewhat disappointed that he had not gotten to have a proper battle of wills with Big Brother Red.

But the first thing he did was look toward the Poké Ball Red had touched at the end.

What kind of terrifying existence was inside it? It had actually been able to weld the doors of a Poké Ball shut.

Through the Poké Ball, Ash could sense that something extremely dangerous was sealed within.

Just as he was about to touch it, that low voice rang out in his mind again.

“Don’t touch me. You’re filthy.”

Ash’s finger stopped in midair.

Filthy?

Red’s voice slowly followed.

“Don’t touch him. That guy has a mental cleanliness obsession. Anything that hasn’t received his approval is filthy.”

Hearing that, Ash could only withdraw his arm in disappointment. Guiding the Pidgeot beneath him, he descended back to the ground.

“Tsk, tsk. So this is the evolved form of my Pidgeotto? It’s unbelievably cool!”

He rubbed his face against Pidgeot’s gorgeous, silky mane, his expression full of envy. Unable to resist, he took out his Pokédex and scanned it.

“Beep beep. Pidgeot. Nickname: Tool Eagle. Trainer: Green.”

“Moves: Fly, Defog, Protect, Tailwind, Rain Dance, Light Screen...”

Ash: “!”

So this was the training path of the Pidgeot line?

I understand now!

Pidgeot: “?”
