Reflections Before the First Round of Recommendations

Today, I received news from the backend that this book has been selected for the first round of recommendations.

Therefore, at the outset, I must first express my heartfelt gratitude to all the readers who have supported me all along. It is because of your encouragement that I was able to reach this first milestone. Thank you all sincerely.

To be honest, this news is quite uplifting, especially since this is my first time writing online fiction. When I began, I had no clear expectations; I simply followed a spark of inspiration, vaguely writing the opening before submitting it.

My initial intent was quite simple: grades didn’t matter—I just wanted to practice. I actually have many original stories that I’ve been nurturing for quite some time, their beginnings quietly resting on my computer, never released.

In reality, I am someone who fears failure and rejection, which has kept me from sharing those works.

I relate somewhat to Lu Mingfei—both of us a bit timid. Moreover, Jiang Nan was the first author I systematically emulated when I began writing novels. That’s why I decided to write a fanfiction of the Dragon Clan series as my first online novel.

Of course, another reason was that Lu Mingfei’s story was quite popular on Qidian.

As my first book, in terms of achievement, it has already met my initial expectations.

In the first few days after publication, seeing only a handful of bookmarks, my goal was simply to try my best and see if I could make it into the first round of recommendations.

In recent years, my update schedule has been somewhat irregular, mainly because I haven’t had many drafts prepared.

At the time of publication, I had about eight chapters in reserve.

Later, due to some pacing issues, I posted several chapters in quick succession to adjust the rhythm.

Then, in the past two weeks, work suddenly piled up like an avalanche. My position was usually quite relaxed—I even secretly finished several single-player games during office hours.

But recently, things have become busier. I traveled to Guizhou once, Jiangxi once, and in the past few days, I’ve unloaded over a dozen truckloads of cargo at the warehouse.

Thanks to this, my usual update times around 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. have become erratic.

Sometimes I post one chapter in the morning and another at night, sometimes one in the afternoon and another at night. Today, I even ended up posting two chapters only late in the evening.

Moreover, I’m not very satisfied with the quality of these posts.

Here, I want to apologize to everyone who has continued to support me.

Fortunately, most of the work has now been completed. In the coming period, my workload should lighten again. With the Qingming holiday approaching, I will have plenty of time to stockpile drafts and polish chapters.
