069 An Unexpected Encounter

The planet Volar is the capital world of the Davor Republic, and Volar City is its capital city. If Volar is the heart of Davor, then Volar City is the very heart of Volar. Not only is it the political center of the planet, but it also stands as the economic hub of the republic’s commercial activity. In the annual ranking of the nation’s top one hundred cities, Volar City has always been the uncontested number one.
There are three airports on Volar, with the third located in the northeastern corner of Volar City. It is the most advanced airport in the country, completed and put into operation just two years ago. Inside, the most cutting-edge technology, the most sophisticated transportation network, and the most comprehensive facilities can be found. It not only provides airplane takeoff and landing services, but can also accommodate spaceships, serving as a combined air and space terminal.
The daily passenger flow here is enormous, as it is the nation’s central hub. Almost every minute, no fewer than ten planes are either taking off or landing.
“Five minutes until arrival at the airport. Please prepare to disembark.”
Roused from deep sleep by the sweet voice of the female announcer, Zhong Yun stretched comfortably. Those two men who claimed to be police must have held high rank to arrange such a luxurious cabin for him—clearly, they were government agents.
But why would the government be looking for him?
Zhong Yun fell into thought. He possessed far too many things ahead of his time; if the government sought him, there were certainly many possible reasons. For instance, the “Seven Fairies”—to his knowledge, there would be a grand flower exhibition next year, with foreign guests invited to attend. It was to be a lavish affair, and perhaps the government wanted him to cultivate another “Seven Fairies” plant. Since this flower was nearly extinct, its appearance at the exhibition would greatly enhance the nation’s image.
Another possibility was the matter with Huang Jiandi, the B-level mechanic. But then, that machine was nothing extraordinary, and he had already destroyed it. Surely the state wouldn’t stir up such a commotion over that?
Or perhaps he had inadvertently revealed something somewhere, without realizing it?
Of course, it could simply be that his parents discovered his disappearance and asked someone to find him. But they probably didn’t have that much influence.
The worst-case scenario was that Zero had already been exposed—at least partially.
At this thought, Zhong Yun frowned, though he was no longer as anxious as before. He decided to observe the situation and meet the person who had come for him before drawing any conclusions.
It is often said that confidence comes from strength, and that is absolutely true. He was no longer the ordinary high school student at the mercy of others. Behind the Moon, a spaceship belonging to him waited in hiding. With a single command, he could reach Volar within thirty minutes. Even in the worst possible circumstances, he could still take his family and live on his own planet.
With this backup plan, Zhong Yun was filled with confidence.

As Zhong Yun pondered, the plane landed. He stood up, gathered his belongings, and prepared to disembark. At that moment, a tall flight attendant in a short-sleeved uniform approached gracefully and asked politely, “Are you Mr. Zhong Yun?”
“That’s right.”
“Someone wishes to see you. Please come with me,” the attendant said, gesturing for him to follow.
The moment had come.
Zhong Yun smiled faintly. Without asking who wanted to see him, he picked up his backpack and left, under the watchful eyes of the other passengers in the luxurious cabin.
The attendant led him down a special access passage reserved for distinguished guests—an area off-limits without an escort from airport staff.
Standing on the automatic walkway, Zhong Yun leaned against the railing, admiring the curves of the attendant’s figure beneath her uniform. Under his unabashed gaze, the attendant remained unfazed, a testament to her professional training.
The passage was nearly empty, with only the occasional person passing by. Any glances exchanged were brief and quickly averted.
After about five minutes, voices drifted from an intersection up ahead. Zhong Yun glanced over and saw a group emerging from around the corner. Leading the way were several young men and women, followed by tall, alert men who were clearly bodyguards.
Zhong Yun had little interest in these people, but unexpectedly spotted a familiar face among them. The world truly was small—meeting him here was a surprise.
The man was chatting and laughing with several women, but as if sensing Zhong Yun’s gaze, his eyes swept over and, for a split second, a cold light flashed within them before vanishing, so fleeting one might have thought it an illusion.
Zhong Yun’s heart skipped a beat. Did he want to kill him?
In “combat simulation training,” Zhong Yun had “died” countless times and was now highly sensitive to murderous intent. Though the man’s glance was brief, he distinctly felt the chill of hostility in it.
Why did he hate him so much?
Of course—because of Yun Qi. Zhong Yun instantly understood the reason.

From their very first meeting, this man had shown strong hostility toward him. Recently, Zhong Yun had grown close to Yun Qi, and anyone with a bit of curiosity could have discovered this. The man must have caught wind of it, which explained the surge of murderous intent.
Fei Yingming, I never provoked you, yet you wish me dead. In that case, don’t blame me for being ruthless.
Zhong Yun thought silently.
Yes, the man who harbored such powerful murderous intent towards Zhong Yun was none other than Fei Yingming, whom he had met at the Fleur Garden (see Chapter 6).
Just then, laughter broke out among Fei Yingming’s group. Looking over, Zhong Yun saw them gesturing and whispering in his direction—clearly, Fei Yingming had been speaking ill of him.
Childish.
Zhong Yun paid them no mind, nor did he look their way again, choosing instead to continue admiring the beauty at his side.
“This way, please.”
A few minutes later, the flight attendant led him out of the passage and into an elevator. Without turning, Zhong Yun could feel the tangible gaze boring into his back.
After ascending three floors, the attendant guided him out, turned two corners, and opened a door. Once he entered, she quietly shut the door behind him.
“You must be Mr. Zhong Yun.”
Inside stood a man in his thirties, with an air of efficiency and shrewdness. Upon seeing Zhong Yun, a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes, but his expression remained warm and courteous.
“I don’t believe we’ve met,” Zhong Yun said, shaking his hand.
“Well, now we have.” The man smiled broadly. “My name is Zhao Dai. I’m the manager of the Security Department at Yidao Group.”
“Yidao Group?” Zhong Yun was puzzled. Why would someone from Yidao Group be looking for him?
(Note: Regardless of what the moon is called here, I will simply translate it as ‘the Moon.’)
