Chapter One: Through the Rainforest

It took Lin Feng a full half-day to finally accept the fact that he had transmigrated.

Yet, looking at the towering trees and tangled vines before him, he couldn't help but feel a pang of melancholy.

Just six hours ago, Lin Feng was sitting in front of his computer, playing an online game called *Genshin Impact*.

Right when he was in a co-op team fighting a weekly boss, the Shogun's Musou no Hitotachi cleaved right down upon him. Before he could even curse, his vision went black. When he woke up, he found himself dangling from a tree at least twenty meters tall.

After watching a pack of walking Fungi waddle swaggeringly beneath him, Lin Feng finally confirmed that he had transmigrated into the world of *Genshin Impact*—the continent of Teyvat.

In his original world, he had always been a loner, so transmigrating to Teyvat wasn't necessarily a bad thing. The Rishboland Tiger let out a thunderous roar, venting its fury at the human who had trespassed into its territory.

Preparing to make a final struggle, he scrambled up from the ground, seriously contemplating whether he should attempt a slide tackle to go down with some dignity.

Just then, however, Lin Feng spotted several Spinocrocodiles basking in the sun along the shore of the nearby wetland. His eyes lit up, and he rolled aside to dodge another pounce from the Rishboland Tiger.

Scrambling to his feet, he dashed like a madman toward the Spinocrocodiles.

*I just hope the Archive entry about Rishboland Tigers being highly territorial is true,* he thought to himself.

Since there was another group of carnivores here, this was highly likely the edge of the tiger's territory. Lin Feng was betting that the beast wouldn't risk a conflict with the Spinocrocodiles over a scrawny human with barely any meat on his bones!

Seeing that he was about to collide with the crocodiles, and with the foul stench of their jaws already wafting into his nose, he steeled his resolve, leaped high into the air, and vaulted right over the Spinocrocodile's head.

"Roar!"

The Rishboland Tiger, which had been hot on his heels, spotted its irritable neighbors already raising their bodies. It let out two frustrated growls and, keeping its eyes fixed on the crocodiles, backed away step by step into its own territory.

"Phew..."

Lin Feng finally stopped beside a small pond far from the crocodiles. Once his racing heart slowed down a bit, he let out a long sigh and sat down on a blackened, decayed log.

Looking at the line of ants marching by his feet and a few red-and-green parrots drinking water at the edge of the pond, Lin Feng suddenly realized that this was no longer the scaled-down world of the game. Even the animals here possessed real, living lives.

Dragging his body, which felt exceptionally exhausted now that the adrenaline rush had faded, he walked to the edge of the pond. Looking at the handsome face reflected in the water—which differed little from his previous life—he let out a sigh of relief.

*As expected of me. I was already this handsome in my teens,* Lin Feng thought self-indulgently.

After such a frantic run, his clothes were completely drenched in sweat.
